pitfield veg
Sophie embodies the passion, quality and vibrancy of the modern day, human scale market gardener. Her 0.7 acre plot in Hurstpierpoint may sound small on paper but it’s a bountiful space both culinarily and ecologically.
Surrounded by wildflower meadows and suffused with even more blooms for markets and biodiversity, this market garden is alive with activity.
Sophie runs a no-dig operation and enjoys pushing the boundaries when it comes to seed selection, challenging recipients of her veg to try new exciting products every year and experiment with new cooking techniques and flavours.
Her quality is outstanding and maintains a vibrant direct-supply business to restaurants and retailers in Brighton and Hove as well as supplying us.
