Toos Jeuken started Laines farm in 1978 after purchasing land from her father, also a farmer. Highly respected in the organic and biodynamic communities, Toos and her daughter, Rosa, maintain the quality of their soil in as natural a way as possible. Manure, rotations, cover and compost tea treatments. The band of land they grow in is particularly fertile, named “Horsham Green Sand” and the vegetables that come from it are a thing of wonder, essences of themselves.

Rosa is now taking more of a leading role in the farm and is passionate about soil health and nutrition, which stands front and center of Laines’ growing ethos.
