old mead

Old Mead is an ex-LSA (Land Settlement Association) site where - post WW"2 - many workers or veterans who were out of work were offered a modest smallholding with a property, chickens and a glasshouse to collaboratively grow and sell Covent Garden market.

Run by Tony, Jack at Torri’s brother, these two grow at a very efficient and Italian pace. They grow some outstanding veg in their ex-LSA glasshouses including Pak Choi, REAL Italian Rocket, Genovese basil, coriander, spinach and plum tomatoes. All grown in the earth, with plenty of sun and a bit of water when it’s required.
