Jack is an Italian ex-wrestler. He came to the UK from Sicily to compete 50 years ago and never left! He moved into horticulture working as a soil scientist for many years before taking on an ex-LSA (Land Settlement Association) site to start growing for himself. The glasshouses are the last of an ending generation of horticulture that provided much needed employment post WW2.

Jack is renowned for his traditional cucumbers and year round brassica greens, as well as lettuces and Genovese basil and joi choi, all from seed that his family brought over from Sicily.
